Controlling and recording the access to remote sites is an essential part of a comprehensive physical security plan. Combining access control with video provides visual confirmation of who is entering your sites and with what credentials. With video integration, a video snapshot is recorded when the access control system is activated whether through keycard or fob access or by RF fob at the gate. The video event is stored and correlated with the access control event to provide to visual evidence of access to the site.
Utilities are required to be notified whenever there are personnel on the premises at a substation for safety compliance reasons. At many remote sites this is done only by voice communication without confirmation of credentials or identification of personnel. Integrated video with access control identifies personnel and vehicles that enter the site and prevents employees from lending credentials to others and tailgating through check points.
