The New IPTZ1016 – First Substation Hardened PTZ Camera
Systems With Intelligence Inc. is pleased to announce the market release of the first Pan Tilt Zoom (PTZ), camera fully designed for substations, the IPTZ1016. This camera can support extreme operating temperatures of -40C to +85C, (-40F to +185F), and meets the standards IEC61850-3 and IEEE1613 for electronic equipment in an electrical substation. Equipped with a fiber optic ethernet port, this camera can be installed in the middle of a switchyard without the problems that induced currents can create in the communication channel. The IPTZ1016 will provide maintenance and operations personnel of electrical utilities with an invaluable tool to assess the conditions of the substations at any time of the day or night, reducing the need of trips to site which will reduce costs and increase safety in operations.
The IPTZ1016 camera complements the Systems With Intelligence core line of products dedicated to monitoring remote sites under harsh conditions.

Systems With Intelligence Announces the New ISG500
The Systems With Intelligence today announced its new ISG500 Intelligent Sensor Gateway. The ISG500 enables remote asset monitoring utilizing the Industrial IoT to connect grid edge devices to operations and maintenance information systems. With distributed processing that aggregates and analyzes sensor data at remote sites, utilities will benefit from automated monitoring, reduced network bandwidth and increased reliability.
The ISG500 is substation rated to operate in remote and harsh environments where high value utility assets and sensors live. It features flexible networking capabilities and provides alarm and event notification for continuous automated monitoring. The protocol conversion allows upstream connectivity to SCADA/GIS and asset management systems for status, trending analysis and equipment dashboards. Local archiving capacity up to one terabyte allows for over 30 days of local data storage.
Utilities are realizing the cost saving benefits and increased safety of condition based maintenance and remote inspection programs. Systems With Intelligence Inc. announced the release of its DVS500 Compact Digital Video Server. The DVS500 is a reliable and compact platform that records data from multiple video and thermal cameras and incorporates a suite of sophisticated analytic algorithms for automated monitoring. The DVS500 features flexible networking capabilities and provides automated alarm and event notification to reduce the need for continuous monitoring.
The DVS500 is easy to use, with simple “plug-n-play” functionality that minimizes installation time and costs. The DVS500 is ideal for visual and thermal asset monitoring applications at small remote sites that are managed from a central location. It can be powered from alternatives sources (e.g. solar panels) and its small form factor makes it perfect for stand alone installations.
The DVS500 is IEC61850-3 and IEEE1613 rated and has been designed specifically for harsh environments found in electric utility applications, considering the presence of high levels of EMI, voltage fluctuations and wide temperature ranges. > More
