Job Description:

SWI is currently seeking to expand its application / support team. Highly skilled and motivated professionals are desired to ensure the continued support of robust, easy-to-use, and high-performance video surveillance solutions for use in harsh industrial environments. The Field Application Engineer will play a significant role in the design and implementation of new systems and improvements to existing capabilities of SWI’s Video Solution and support of existing customers.

Responsibilities include:

• Integrate and deploy monitoring systems (Video cameras, thermal cameras, IR Sensors, etc). Create architecture drawings and bill of materials for the system
• Travel to local and international project sites to perform integration, commissioning and training services (including the United States)
• Respond to functional and technical elements of Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and Requests for Quotes (RFQs)
• Provide technical/product training and support for sales people, sales representatives and customers
• Able to read and understand complex equipment manuals, technical publications and online information to provide solutions that are innovative, thorough, and practicable
• Gather and understand customer requirements to convey to the company’s Marketing and Engineering departments for product development
• Identify customer’s needs and sales opportunities

Qualifications Required:

• BA/BS in Engineering, Diploma in Engineering Technology, Technical Field, or successful experience in a similar role
• Minimum of 3 years of experience configuring, installing and maintaining access control systems, intrusion detection systems and enterprise-level video management systems (i.e. Milestone, Genetec, Avigilon…)
• Basic knowledge in IT and Networks (i.e. CCNA level)
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and Microsoft Visio, proficiency in AutoCad would be a valued asset
• Read architectural, mechanical and electrical blueprints
• Good verbal and written communication skills required
• Fluency in a second language (Portuguese, French or Spanish) would be a valued asset
• Strong customer focus with a sense of urgency and ability to work with tight deadlines
• Ability to handle multiple projects at the same time
• Completing other projects and tasks based on company requirements
• Work well both independently and in a team environment
